Gary Zarchy is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor specializing in first responder/public safety, LGBTQ+, substance abuse and co-occurring and work-family life issues.

Mr. Zarchy has over twenty-five years’ experience as a therapist and has maintained his independent license for twenty years. He is a graduate of the University of Phoenix where he was named “Outstanding Student” in his class. Mr. Zarchy has taught at the University of Phoenix for eighteen years in the master of counseling, and undergraduate psychology and human services areas both on-line and in-person. He is also teaching on-line in the associates program for chemical dependency at Rio Salado College where he has taught for over twelve years. Mr. Zarchy previously ran group and did supervision for the Sundance Center, a private residential program and for A.C.T. counseling which specializes in gambling addiction. He worked as an outpatient counselor at Crisis Preparation and Recovery, Inc. where he has worked for almost eighteen years until they closed their outpatient division. He ran an outpatient group for first responders recovering from substance abuse for four years.

In addition to the above-mentioned specialties, Mr. Zarchy has experience working with serious mental illness such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and personality disorders. He has presented on cultural diversity at Calvary Center and the Journey Center. He was previously president of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association, central and northern Arizona branch. He also holds certification as a Certified Employee Assistance Professional and a Substance Abuse Professional.
